Okay, I got a magazine from Williams-Sonoma and was flipping through the pages and dreaming of owning some of the beautiful products (as usual) and I came across this recipe that sounded interesting. Well, let me just tell you that I have had it for breakfast everyday for over 2 weeks now. It is so yummy and is perfect for breakfast. You can get the original smoothie recipe here. It is a good enough base that you are able to add more almonds, chia seeds, ground flax, or your favorite protein powder. I also use frozen strawberries to substitute for the ice cubes. Here is my version of the recipe:
2 cups Cranberry Juice
2 cups plain yogurt (I use Stonyfield)
2 ripe bananas
1/2 lb. frozen strawberries
1/2 cup raw almonds
1/4 cup Chia Seeds
Add all ingredients to a blender in the order listed and blend. Recipe makes 4 servings.
Make this smoothie today, or tomorrow. Trust me, it will become an instant favorite!
